The squirrels around here (New England) are frisky, plentiful, and uniformly gray. But the April before last I noticed this guy running across a wire near my office. He sure gets the attention of anyone who happens to notice him; squirrels are not supposed to be this color. I've learned since then that black squirrels are not exactly unheard of, but I deeply respect his individuality anyway.
The other squirrels don't seem to notice.
