Perils of our Forefathers
19th Century Engraving

This dramatic steel engraving shows Pilgrims in a church. The men -- even the preacher at his pulpit -- are drawing arms as the women swoon and the children cower. The church doors are being thrown open to reveal Indians running wild in the village. (Our forefathers only later invented dialing 911.) The print was published by Selmar Hess of New York in about 1880. The print is in excellent shape; the orginal tissue guard is intact. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being 10-3/4 inches by 7-3/4 inches; the image area is 7 inches by 5 inches. It is in excellent condition with no foxing or discoloration anywhere. There are two insignificant pinholes at the bottom, far outside of the image area. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. Buyer pays $3.20 for Priority Mail shipping within the U.S.
