Join a truly global community service project that has the potential to transform the lives of hundreds of children. The motto of Atuu is "If there was more justice, we would need less charity." This is your opportunity to work to bring justice to a group of children who deserve the opportunity to pursue their goals. We are always looking for people who are willing to contribute in any number of ways. We need people who will contribute to our fundraising efforts, travel plans, educational awareness, and various other projects we undertake. Tuition for high school in the Kumasi Region is roughly $150 dollars a year. With board included, the costs run at roughly $300. Most children in the rural villages cannot afford this. In Adidwan, roughly one child will make it to high school every 3 years. If students cannot find their own housing (which is most often the case) Atuu will pay for boarding, which includes books, uniforms, tuition, fee’s, meals, healthcare, and room. This is why we need your help. We have a policy of paying the full three years of high school at once. This prevents us from taking on more than we can handle. We are currently working towards the goal of raising $10,000 for the current year. There are many advantages to giving to BSSI and Atuu

1. 100% of the money goes to the scholarships. We cover all overhead expenses, such as transportation, postage, etc….

2. All of the money raised this year will be hand delivered to Ghana by members of the organization; we undercut the bureaucracy that is typical of many charities.

3. Over half of the money raised goes to women. There is a severe disparity in education in Ghana between women and men. We have joined the movement to change that.
